The aim of this interdisciplinary research training group ("Graduiertenkolleg") of Earth Sciences is to investigate the influence of fluid phases on soft and hard rocks and the interaction between rocks and geofluids. The general focus of research is to study the transport of dissolved matter in fluid phases and interactions with mineral surfaces. The research training group includes geoscientific research within the Faculty of Chemistry and Earth Sciences and the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy. The interdisciplinary programme encompasses the following research topics:
(A) Hydrogeochemical Processes in Limnic Systems,
(B) Fluid migration, fluid evolution as well as dissolution and precipitation processes in diagenetic environments and
(C) the role of volatile components for rock deformation and metamorphism.
